Happy Yaoi Yum Yum (Part 2)

This is the line work for the cover of Happy Yaoi Yum Yum Vol. 1.

Corn!

If you don’t know the significance that corn has with yaoi fans…ask someone. I think this cover will be a perfect beginning for the series. It’s cute, smutty, and will make fans laugh when they see the corn. Art work by Yaoi Hentai King Wong Toni. He’s illustrated numerous Yaoi Hentai stories, and actually wrote and illustrated one himself. This is the Rock Star story in volume 2. That’s actually one of the most popular Yaoi Hentai stories. Many people have asked for a sequel.

Dark Prince 2 Preview

You can now read the first 14 pages of Dark Prince 2 on the Yaoi Press web site: http://www.yaoipress.com/promo/dp2.htm.

This story has been an absolute labor of love. The positive reinforcement I’ve gotten from fans at different anime conventions has emboldened me. There’s nothing more wonderful than to see a whole community into the same mix of dark, sweet, and taboo that I am. M.A. Sambre’s art is so gorgeous. She put her heart into this series, and it shows. I’ve been so lucky to have artists like her and Le Peruggine for Winter Demon. From my heart to their hands. They translate my vision perfectly.

I know I’m still buzzing from the love we received at the last two conventions Yaoi Press exhibited at. Last week we exhibited at Katsucon. This was my first time at this show, but the second year for Yaoi Press. We were so warmly received! I had many fans hunt down our booth to meet me and get Winter Demon 3 autographed (there was an ad in the program guide). There were three women in particular who were passionate about the series. As I stood there feigning modesty while they told me how much they loved volumes 1 and 2, my booth manager Marcy gave me a sardonic look and pretended to pet a cat. ?? I was going to ask her why but we had a rush of business and I forgot to mention it. Then another woman got excited when she realized I was the writer of Winter Demon, and started talking to me about how much she loved Figaru, etc. Again I saw Marcy pretending to pet a cat. I asked her what that was about. She said, “They just keep stroking your ego.”

I love you Marcy. ::kick::

Incidentally, Marcy has a large following due to her adorable amigurumi creations (plug). Just as she’s giving me hell for my abundance of kudos, a girl walking by squealed because she recognized the bunny Marcy was knitting. She came over to say how much she loved her work. Now it was my turn to pet the invisible cat.

Right Stuf! Happy Yaoi Yum Yum!

Right Stuf Gets Y-Curious
I’m thrilled to announce that Yaoi Press titles have been picked up by the number 1 anime-specialty retail/distribution company, Right Stuf Inc. Right Stuf is listed in our carve-out agreement with our main distributor, meaning that they are able to sell Yaoi Press products on a wholesale basis. This is a great new distribution channel for our titles. Our entire backlist is available from Right Stuf, and will be included in their popular print catalogs.

I’m loving the attention the Right Stuf staff are showing me and my products. They just approved our distribution terms today, and already our entire library is listed! We’ve done extremely well with anime-related boutique distributors in the past. Right Stuf’s acceptance is a milestone for Yaoi Press.

Happy Yaoi Yum Yum
Congratulations to Yaoi Suki users Quacky and Joan for correctly guessing the title for the new Yaoi Hentai series successor: ‘Happy Yaoi Yum Yum.’ The contest prizes were copies of Yaoi Hentai 1, Yaoi Hentai 2, Desire of the Gods, The Aluria Chronicles, Spirit Marked, and a Yaoi Parasol.

Though Yaoi Press will start to publish other ‘Adult Only’ titles, Happy Yaoi Yum Yum will follow in the tradition of Yaoi Hentai as being the most smutty and pointless. It’s main difference from the Yaoi Hentai series is that *all* stories will be comedic. Our market research (me watching people read books at conventions) showed that women are less embarrassed to buy porn when it’s funny.

Whether or not Trach the Tentacle Monster will live on in HYYY is still up in the air.
