Yaoi Press Sneaking into A-Kon

A-Kon opened their ‘Convention Alley’ last minute and Yaoi Jamboree Chair Kyla Mills jumped at the opportunity to get a spot for us to promote Yaoi Jamboree there. I’m shocked to announce that they’ve actually given us a spot. Yaoi Jamboree has half a table in the convention alley.

We will have a display for Yaoi Jamboree and thousands of fliers to hand out for YJAM. We’ll also be doing preregistrations at the booth.

I’m not going to miss this chance to sell Yaoi Press books and parasols in Dallas for the first time. We will be dedicating part of our tiny table real estate to book sales. Please hunt out our half-table this weekend at A-Kon. New staffer Nancy will be running the space for us.

On the Road Blogging

Hello from Toronto where I have just arrived for Anime North. I’m still beaming over Anime Central. I’ve never had a better convention experience than that show. It was fantastic to see my dear friends Dany&Dany again, and also to receive the love of so many fans. The convention staff treated us wonderful. Chicago was amazing. I wish every show could be like this one.

At the end of the Chicago part of my trip I didn’t say goodbye to Dany&Dany but ‘See you later.’ This was their second show in the USA in less than a year. I know they’ll be back in 8 months or so for another event. ACEN asked for them to return next year since the fans went so crazy for them. I kind of want to bring them to a new area each time, but we’re not ruling out anything.

My head is spinning in Canada. I haven’t been here since I was 8 years old. I’m enjoying some culture-shock. The full-blown Toronto accent is so strange to my ears I almost think people are faking an accent to mess with me. I can’t believe how huge the smiles are here. People are so genuinely friendly in Canada.

Oh…and for any other adult publishers thinking of coming to Anime North…all my porn made it through the border. Mwa ha ha.

I’m off to Anime Central tomorrow, and will be going directly to Toronto for Anime North/Yaoi North from there. I can’t wait to see Dany&Dany again. I love them so much!

Yaoi Press is sponsoring the Hot Yaoi Night once again at Jacon this year. There’s a Yaoi Press Industry Panel, a Boy Love (Dany&Dany) panel, and a how to draw anatomy panel by Dany&Dany at Anime Central. I’ll be running an Industry panel for Anime North, and a yaoi evening event at Yaoi North.

I need everyone to go to all these events. Even the ones that are in Orlando and Chicago at the same time.
